Can Kindness be Taught?

Source: Can Kindness Be Taught?

This article focuses on whether kindness can be taught to children. In my opinion, I think that it can be taught. I think many children (or people for that matter) learn behaviors from those around them. If they see negativitity all of the time, then they tend to be negative. As a parent, I feel that it is my responsible to teach my child certain characteristics, and being kind is certainly one of them.

What are your thoughts?

  1. I completely agree that kindness and many behaviors can be taught. Children learn from watching others around them and they pick up on both the negative and positive behaviors displayed around them.
As parents it is our responsibility to teach these behaviors to our children. When I see a child that is mean or rude, it makes me question the parents. With that said I know that people may think the same thing about me, my oldest is very shy to the point that he comes off as incredibly rude. I have tried to change this behavior but with little progress. Deep down I am just hoping that as he gets older he will change but we keep trying.
