This was a very great article on building social and emotional skills in elementary students. Having a child in elementary. this article helped me. Our children face so much when they are in school. They have to not only focus on being a good student but this is the time that they build other key strengths as well. They live in a world that makes them believe in order to fit in, you have to follow the "norm" - whatever that is at the time. They deal with bullies and so many other negative things that can impact them if parents are not building their children up at home. It is our responsibility to encourage, motivate,   protect and instill values in our children. Some parents send their child to school and expect the teacher to do all of these things. I feel like the teacher should encourage and motivate children to do better but it starts at home.

Great article, what are your thoughts??
