The looming crisis of student loan debt
This is a very good article that has some truth to it. I know for me taking out student loans is the only way that I can afford to pay for college. It is very frustrating that sometimes student loan payments are as high as a car note. The frustrating part is that in most cases, none of us get jobs that are related to our degrees which means we are not making a high salary.
I think financial aid is important and it should be available to everyone but I think the repayment process needs to be reorganized. Most college students are in debt by the time that they graduate and can't even afford to make necessary purchases like a house or a car.

Building Social and Emotional Skills in Elementary Students: Passion and Strengths
http://www.edutopia.org/blog/elementary-social-emotional-curriculum-3-passion-randy-taran?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+EdutopiaNewContent+%28Edutopia%29&utm_content=Google+Reader
This was a very great article on building social and emotional skills in elementary students. Having a child in elementary. this article helped me. Our children face so much when they are in school. They have to not only focus on being a good student but this is the time that they build other key strengths as well. They live in a world that makes them believe in order to fit in, you have to follow the "norm" - whatever that is at the time. They deal with bullies and so many other negative things that can impact them if parents are not building their children up at home. It is our responsibility to encourage, motivate, protect and instill values in our children. Some parents send their child to school and expect the teacher to do all of these things. I feel like the teacher should encourage and motivate children to do better but it starts at home.
Great article, what are your thoughts??
